WELCOME TO MIRAMAR BEACH
Celebrate your active lifestyle surrounded by stunning beaches
Located on the Gulf of Mexico in the southwest corner of Walton County sits the stunning area of Miramar Beach. In the early 1900s, the region claimed its fame for growing citrus. At that time the area was referred to as “Shoals.” In the mid-1920s, the citrus trees developed canker, and the epidemic forced most of the farmers to leave the area.
Fortunately, Col. Michael Grimaldi and his wife, Marion, stayed behind and helped develop the neighborhood into what it is today. The area received the name Miramar Beach in 1937. About 8,800 people live in Miramar Beach, and many more vacation here yearly. The combination of nearly perfect weather and white sand and turquoise waters draw residents and tourists alike.
